The White Columns Mosque

Muscat - Sultanate of Oman.
The project is located in a densely populated residential area (South Maabela) in the capital, Muscat.

The basic architectural elements of the congregational mosque have been called upon and described sequentially: the entrances, the courtyard, the prayer hall, and the mihrab facing the Qibla, following the inherited line of symmetry over hundreds of years.

The courtyard area has been enhanced with two rows of columns at its ends, culminating in a square minaret on one side, and a semicircular structure that holds the water source and ablution area on the other side, representing the rich heritage of Omani castle architecture in its details.

The other service elements (ablution facilities, bathrooms, a multipurpose hall, women's prayer area, the imam and resident's house, and the commercial shops) have been carefully integrated into the mosque's mass without affecting the centrality of the courtyard and prayer hall.

The white color symbolizes purity, continuously connecting with God
