Al Wahab Mosque

Location: Al Mudhaibi, Sultanate of Oman

Design Year: 2024

Service: Religious

Architectural Style: Islamic

Concept:
The mosque’s design is deeply inspired by the land and heritage of Oman, which informs its architectural form. Treated clay (sarooj) is used as the primary finishing material, symbolizing a strong connection to the local soil and traditional craftsmanship.

The mosque features a dominant cylindrical form, characteristic of the eastern region’s architectural style, which defines the central space of the main prayer hall. The design embodies the solid and robust qualities typical of architecture in arid regions adjacent to desert landscapes. Triangular motifs and narrow, small openings enhance the building’s aesthetic, providing a distinctive charm while closely referencing traditional Omani architectural heritage.
