Falaj Al-Maragha Village Mosque

Location: Samail, Sultanate of Oman

Design Year: 2026

The mosque is located in the Al-Maragha Falaj area in the ولاية سمائل, and serves the residents of the village and its surroundings. The total built area does not exceed 400 square meters, including the main prayer hall, the imam’s residence, and service facilities, in addition to an open courtyard that reflects the spirit of Islamic architecture.

The design is based on a symmetrical axis oriented toward the qibla, around which all elements are organized. It features simple geometric forms inspired by Omani architectural heritage, without the use of domes or arches. Natural light enters the prayer hall through a window above the mihrab.

The entrance gate is the most prominent element of the project, defined by a clear frame supported by columns. At its center is a panel inscribed with the name of Allah in square Kufic at a 45-degree angle, intersected by a slit symbolizing the crescent. The minaret is positioned at the entrance of the prayer hall, topped with an inverted pyramidal form and another crescent.

The building harmonizes with its environment and elegantly expresses the heritage of the place.
