Architectural Style: Modern

Concept:
The project’s overall design harmoniously blends contemporary architecture with the essence of traditional Omani craftsmanship. Elegant geometric lines shape the building’s vertical structure and the solid mass of the exhibition hall, evoking the timeless spirit of Oman’s historic architecture — its forts and castles that appear to emerge organically from the landscape.

The project is composed of two primary volumes. The first — accommodating the administrative offices and exhibition areas — features sleek, modern white lines embracing a transparent glass core. The second volume — which houses the halls, workshops, and theater — forms the foundation of the complex. It presents a grounded, sculptural appearance inspired by the earthy tones and textures of natural stone, with a roof form that echoes Oman’s distinctive undulating terrain.

To enhance the visual presence of the structure, several monumental rocks are positioned at the building’s corners, anchoring it to the site. The most striking among them is a suspended rock, dramatically showcased to intensify the architectural expression. This powerful gesture embodies the profound relationship between the Omani people and their land — a tribute to the enduring legacy of craftsmanship at the heart of Omani culture.
